It was a splendid evening and, as if anyone needed reminding, it’s hard to beat Irish hospitality!

Please join us at the Southern Historical Association conference in Atlanta to meet Tom Chaffin, author of Giant’s Causeway: Frederick Douglass’s Irish Odyssey and the Making of an American Visionary, the first major narrative of Douglass’s transformative 1845-47 British Isles lecture tour. Tom will be greeting SHA participants and signing books on Sat. Nov. 15 from 1:30 to 2:30 at the University of Virginia Press book exhibit, at booth #526 in the Galleria exhibit hall of the Hilton Atlanta Hotel.
